The BenQ PD2506Q USB-C designer monitor
Hello everyone! Today I have a new review for you all featuring the BenQ PD2506Q USB-C designer monitor! After some usage of my own with it I wanted to share my thoughts about it! Thank you BenQ for sending it over!
So first things first. Let's talk specs. It's a 25” QHD panel with 350 nits of brightness and a 95% P3 colour coverage. In similar terms, it's a very nice looking, colour accurate monitor. One Of the main selling points for me is that it has USB-C, so if you have a MacBook or a USB-C laptop then you're gonna love this monitor (will also be great for M1 iPads once they gain external display support). It also powers/charges your Mac from the USB-C port with upto 65W power delivery which is more than enough for my 14” MacBook Pro. The main advantage of that is that you only need one cable into your laptop rather than one for the monitor and one for the charger.

Cool features. One feature that I thought was pretty cool is something called daisy chain mode which basically means you can connect a bunch of these monitors together to have a dual, or even triple monitor set up which I have to say is really cool! This would be awesome for anyone who can’t deal with just one monitor. Another feature that I’m obsessed with is the wake time, the monitor only takes a second or two to wake up which is amazing and means unlike all pop my previous monitors, my MacBook is still awake when the monitor comes on, which is very very handy and probably my favourite thing about this monitor.
How has my usage been? In terms of screen size it's very similar to the 24” iMac which I think is plenty of space for most people's usage. It took a bit of getting used to as my main monitor is an ultrawide (more on that soon) but I do like the compact feeling of it. The screen also looks very sharp, and the colours don't feel off. I'm not a designer so I'm not really taking advantage of how colour accurate this thing actually is, but i would say it's very similar to the colours of my MacBooks display from my usage which is great for continuity. Although my MacBook does have a HDMI port, thunderbolt is just more superior. It can charge my MacBook as well as connecting it to my monitor at the same time. Another thing i've noticed which is probably small but super awesome is that when you tap your keyboard or something to wake your Mac, the monitor only takes a second or two to wake. Words can't describe how much I appreciate that small feature. The stand on the monitor is very good too, you can adjust it up and down or tilt it backwards and forwards, it also feels very premium and sturdy!
So who should actually buy this monitor? For £400, it's not the cheapest on the market but I think the features definitely make it worth it. The fact that you only need one cable to plug into your monitor and then you're good to go, is absolutely amazing! As a creator I really appreciate these kinds of monitors, they just make life easier, and I highly recommend them to my fellow creators out there! If you're a gamer then no this monitor is not for you, you need something completely different, unless you're using a Switch, in that case then this will do you just fine, especially if you plan on using more than just one device on it.
Thanks for reading my friends! Catch you all next time!
