The sport case
Ash green. This is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing cases I've ever used, I think that this green is the perfect shade of green and will match all of the iPhone colours really well. In terms of the build quality of the case, I'd say it's very good, they have used a glossy material for the back of the phone case and a matte material around the sides making it easier to grip. These materials were a good choice but one thing to remember is that the back of the case is a fingerprint magnet, just like most silicone and gel cases are. I love that the sides of the case are also a dark colour, it's an awesome contrast with the green colour. Another thing to mention is that this case has got a MagSafe ring inside, which allows for all of your MagSafe accessories to work with this case including Nomads own Base One charger, which is a big thumbs up from me.
Overall I think this case is a really good buy. It is really grippy in the hand, it has a MagSafe ring and it comes in 5 cool colours. It's also around $10 (USD) cheaper than Apple’s silicone case. I personally prefer the Nomad case because of the grippy edges and unique style that it offers, and I can still use my Apple find wallet with it, so it's a big win for me.
The sport band
Simplicity. I was also sent the Ash green watch strap to match the phone case, and I have been loving the duo since I got it, it looks the part! There's not much to say about the strap, other than it’s really good quality and almost half the price of what Apple sells, which is insane. It has a rugged look to it which is a really nice touch as it separates it from all the other third party Apple Watch straps.
So should you bag one? Absolutely, it's half the price of an Apple, yes there are not as many colour options as Apple but they are both the same high quality, and the Nomad has a unique look which will make your watch stand apart from everyone else's.
The Base One
15W MagSafe charging. This is one of my favourite chargers on the market at the moment, it's perfect in a lot of ways. So the design of the Base One is simple, it's a black or white (depending on which colour you get) square with a glass surface and then the white MagSafe circle on top. The base is heavy enough so that when you pick up your phone off the charger, the charger will not lift off with it (except the 12 mini and 13 mini). It charges an iphone 12 or newer at 15W but does require a 30W adapter to work (not included in the box) which you can buy from Nomad or you can use an existing one, like the ones that ship with MacBooks, as long as its 30W or more, so not the 20W Apple one. Although the Base One is a fairly expensive charger, unlike other third party magnetic chargers it has official MFI MagSafe charging, like offerings from Apple and Belkin, which is really good to see.
Other things to note:
It has a heavy metal and glass design
Official MagSafe charging support
Works with all QI devices
Includes a beautiful braided cable in the box
You need to supply you own 30W adapter
Should you buy this? If you are looking for a reliable wireless charger, with official MagSafe support that has a good design, then look no further than the Base One. It would be nice to see Nomad make another MagSafe charger in the future that supports the Apple Watch as well, like a Base Duo, or something, I would be down for that!
Thanks for reading this Nomad review, I hope you enjoyed it and learned something
