Hydrate Spark Pro, the smart water bottle…

Updated: Feb 28, 2023

Now this is not something I thought I would be reviewing, but here we are! The Hidrate Spark Pro first caught my eye in my local stormfront (Apple premium reseller) and I asked the staff why there was a water bottle in a tech store and what does it do? After they explained to me what it actually did I was intrigued. I've never heard of this before, a smart water bottle? They told me it costs £70 which, to me, sounded a bit steep for any type of water bottle so I left the store without it on that day, even though I was tempted. But a few weeks later I saw it on amazon for £47 to which I gave in and smashed the order button, and here's what I found about this extraordinary water bottle…

What does it do?

The whole idea behind the water bottle is to get you to drink more, which is ironically my new year's resolution, and it does a good job. So firstly, it reminds you to drink, it sends a reminder to your phone or watch and lights up. I found this great for when I'm really focused, especially later on at night when I'm gaming. The second feature of this water bottle is that it measures how much you drink throughout the day, and you can even set your goal.

How?

To measure your water, the bottle uses a sensor which you can detach from the bottom of the bottle, you do have to put your bottle on a flat surface to enable it to measure a sip or if you've refilled your bottle. The cool thing about this particular model is that if you put ice in your water, the bottle can actually tell that it's ice and it won't add that to your total ml drunk.

General need to knows

In the box you get the bottle, the sensor and a charging cable. In order to charge the bottle you need to remove the sensor from the bottle and connect it to the charging cable provided, which connects magnetically. In my testing battery life does seem to be as they claim, sometimes I can get 2 weeks out of it if I wanted but usually I charge and clean my bottle every sunday night so that i don't forget. To clean it, always remove the sensor, I use a bottle brush to clean mine which does the job which you can pick up for really cheap.

Was it worth it?

Well, I actually don't regret it, for £47 it was a good purchase and has really helped me drink more water and monitor how much i drink in a day, helping me to lead a healthier lifestyle. If you already drink a lot of water you don't need this product but if you don't, this may help you like it has for me.

I have to say this was really fun to review and unlike anything else I have reviewed. For more content like this feel free to check me out over on Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and YouTube
